2010 Suborbital Launch Log

Left: China performed a record 15 orbital launches during 2010.  This Chang Zheng 3C rocket launched China's Chang'e 2 lunar orbiter from Xichang space center on October 1, 2010.

Right:  SpaceX Corporation's Falcon 9 logged two successes during its first two flights from Cape Canaveral in 2010.  The second launch, in December, orbited the company's Dragon C1 COTS demonstration spacecraft, which was recovered in the Pacific Ocean after two orbits.

YEAR TO DATE LAUNCH VEHICLE SUMMARY

Calendar year launch vehicle results, ranked by number
of successes, with launch total as the first tiebreaker
and vehicle payload mass as the second tiebreaker.
Low Earth Orbit (LEO) missions have orbital periods
less than 2 hours. Deep Space missions include
heliocentric, planetocentric, and solar system escape
trajectories.
